Steinbach Pistons’ Purtill named Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week

Steinbach Pistons’ captain Braden Purtill put on a goal-scoring exhibition last week, earning him  the Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week award.

Purtill, 20, scored four goals in a win against OCN on Sunday, upping his total to six in three games for the Pistons, who are 4-1 after five games. The 6-foot, 190-pound Winnipegger has a season total of eight goals after five games.

The runners up are 19 year old forward Nathan Halvorsen of the Selkirk Steelers and 19 year old forward Chase Brakel of the Portage Terriers.
