Virden Oil Capitals’ McVeigh named Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week

 

Outstanding goaltending has earned Riley McVeigh of the Virden Oil Capitals the Recycle Everywhere MJHL Player of the Week.

McVeigh, 19, stopped 37 of 38 shots from the Steinbach Pistons, in leading Virden Oil Capitals to a 2-1 win in Game One of their best-of-seven MJHL final.

McVeigh, who hails from Calgary, currently has a 9-1 record in the post-season. Game Two of the series resumes Thursday in Virden at 7:30 p.m.

The runners up are 17 year old goaltender Matthew Thiessen of the Steinbach Pistons and 17 year old defenseman Justin Lee of the Virden Oil Capitals.
