Adam Vigfusson commits to St. Cloud State

Niverville Nighthawks captain, Adam Vigfusson, has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey at St. Cloud State University this fall.

Coming off one of the most impressive runs in recent MJHL history, Vigfusson earns his commitment to SCSU this fall after helping the Niverville Nighthawks to their first Turnbull Cup Championship & Centennial Cup National Championship.

Vigfusson led the Nighthawks to a league-best, 51-6-1-0 record in the regular season before going 12-1 in the playoffs where Niverville would earn their first Turnbull Cup Championship in just their fourth season in the MJHL. Vigfusson led the Turnbull Cup Playoffs in scoring with 10 goals and 9 assists in 13 games. The win gave the Nighthawks an automatic spot in the Centennial Cup National Championship event.

Ahead of the Centennial Cup, Vigfusson was named the recipient of the 2025-26 RBC MJHL Community Award, presented to an MJHL player who shows a strong commitment to giving back in the community in which they play.

At the Centennial Cup in Summerside, PE, Vigfusson was named Most Valuable Player of the event before leading the Nighthawks to a 4-1 victory in National Championship game against the Summerside Western Capitals (MHL). In six games Vigfusson finished the event second in both points (12) and goals (7).

In 123 career regular season MJHL games, Vigfusson posted 62 goals and 76 assists for 138 total points.
