Winkler Flyers defenceman, Blake Matheson, has committed to play NCAA Division 1 men’s ice hockey at Long Island University.
Matheson spent the last two seasons in the orange and black, playing a combined 109 regular season games, scoring 20 goals and 61 assists.
Combining to play 25 playoff games over two seasons, Matheson helped the Flyers capture the Turnbull Cup Championship in 2023-24, adding 1 goal and 1 assist.
The Long Island University Sharks men’s hockey team plays NCAA Division 1 Hockey as an independent program.
