WINNIPEG, MB – Quincy Supprien recorded the game winner while Taye Timmerman made 30 saves to help guide the Northern Manitoba Blizzard to a 3-1 victory in game three, giving the Blizzard a 3-0 series lead in the second round of the McMunn and Yates Turnbull Cup Playoffs.

For the first time in the series, it was the Winkler Flyers who would open the scoring first when Isaiah Peters found the back of the net on the 5-on-3 man advantage.

Marlen Edwards tied the game early in the second period with his third of the playoffs to bring the home crowd to their feet. The Blizzard took their first lead of the game with one second left in the period on a powerplay goal from Quincy Supprien which would stand as the game winning goal.

Winkler would press in the third period and pull Liam Ernst for the extra attacker with no luck as Miguel Bouvier would score on the empty net to solidify the 3-1 Blizzard victory.

The Blizzard now have a chance to book their spot in the Turnbull Cup Final for the first time since the 2016-17 season. Game four gets underway on Thursday night at 7:00 from the Roy H. Johnston Arena in The Pas.
