THE PAS, MB – The Northern Manitoba Blizzard are one win away from hoisting the Turnbull Cup.

Taye Timmerman made 25 saves while five different skaters added singles to help the Northern Manitoba Blizzard to a 5-1 victory over the Dauphin Kings in game four, taking a 3-1 series lead in the McMunn & Yates Turnbull Cup Final.

The Kings struck first after killing off a pair of penalties in the opening five minutes of play. Havryil Simchuk scored his 5th of the postseason to give Dauphin a 1-0 lead after the opening twenty minutes of play.

In the second period it was the Northern Manitoba Blizzard who would take over the game, outshooting the Kings 14-5. Alexandre Andre scored just after the midway mark of the period before Keenan McNeill gave the Blizzard a 2-1 lead just 2:06 later.

The Blizzard carried momentum into the third period and stepped on the gas. Esteban Cinq-Mars scored his third of the playoffs to give the Blizzard a two-goal lead before Tyler Dahms made a nice toe drag move to beat Cole Sheffield.

On a Blizzard powerplay midway through the third, Cheechoo Lathlin would make a nice breakout pass to Miguel Bouvier who cut to the net and chipped the puck over the shoulder of Bryson Yaschyshyn who came in relief of Sheffield for the Kings.

The Kings would cut into the Blizzard lead when Cayden Glover scored with under four to play but that would be all for game four as the Blizzard would earn a 5-2 win to take a 3-1 series lead over the Dauphin Kings in the best-of-seven Turnbull Cup Final.

Northern Manitoba converted just 1 of 9 chances on the man-advantage while the Kings went 0 for 2.

Game five is set for Sunday night in Dauphin when the Kings host the Blizzard at 7:30 inside of Credit Union Place.
