CALGARY, AB – The Northern Manitoba Blizzard continue their preliminary round schedule at the Centennial Cup on Saturday night when they take on the Greater Sudbury Cubs of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL).
On Thursday, the Blizzard skated to a 5-4 overtime loss to the OJHL’s Trenton Golden Hawks, in a game where the Blizzard trailed 3-1 and 4-3 before forcing overtime in the late stages. Tyler Bernier scored twice while Taye Timmerman stopped 28 of 35 in the loss.
The Blizzard earned one valuable point in the loss, and will need to pick up more points against the Cubs on Saturday night to stay in contention for a spot in the quarter or semi-finals.
