The Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) is pleased to announce Steinbach Pistons forward, Connor Paronuzzi, as the recipient of the 2024-25 RBC Community Award.
Earlier this season, the MJHL announced the 2024-25 RBC – MJHL Community Ambassador Team, comprised of one player from each MJHL team who displayed outstanding citizenship and sportsmanship both on and off the ice. RBC made a donation on behalf of each ambassador to a school in their local community.
“Connor represented the MJHL, the Pistons, and the surrounding community of Steinbach with tremendous class over the last two seasons,” said MJHL Director of Marketing & Partnerships, Erik Swar. “His commitment to giving back along with his efforts to better his community do not go unnoticed and we are proud to name Connor as the 2024-25 RBC Community Award winner. The MJHL congratulates Connor along with our 12 other ambassadors for their outstanding dedication to volunteerism in Manitoba.”
At the conclusion of the 2024-25 season, Paronuzzi was selected as the recipient of the RBC Community Award which comes with a further donation from RBC in Connor’s name that will be directed to Woodlawn Elementary in Steinbach.
“It’s an hounour, I’m really lucky,” Paronuzzi said of receiving the RBC Community Award. “I’m glad I got the opportunities to give back to the community in Steinbach after everything the city does for the team.”
Paronuzzi shared about his time he spent giving back at the Pat Porter Active Living Centre, and the connections he made spending time with students at Woodlawn Elementary school.
“One big part of it is seeing the impact you can have on someone’s day. When you see people every day and see how happy you can make them just off being there, it shows you that whatever you are doing in life you just have to show up because you don’t know what kind of difference it’s going to make for someone,” he concluded.
