Draft Notes | Top three selections discuss Draft

The 2020 Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) Draft was a special day for many players and families from across the province who saw their hard work and dedication pay off.

In the final installment of Draft Notes, the first three picks from the 2020 MJHL Draft, Noah Dziver, Jayden Perron and Hayden Wheddon talk about their draft experience and what has been keeping them busy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Noah Dziver | Neepawa Natives | Round 1 – Overall 1

“When I saw my name pop up on the screen I was pretty excited. I sat down with my parents and family to celebrate. It’s a pretty big honour to be taken first overall and it just means that all my hard work has been worth it.”

Jayden Perron | OCN Blizzard | Round 1 – Overall 2

“Definitely stressful, really exciting, we’ll see how it all plays out. I’m really missing hockey right now.”

Hayden Wheddon | Selkirk Steelers | Round 1 – Overall 3

“I have family in Selkirk too, so it was pretty exciting. Me and my family were pretty excited.”
