The Manitoba Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce that Erik Swar has been hired as the league’s new full-time Director, Marketing & Partnerships.

Waywayseecaapo Wolverines Head Coach and General Manager Taylor Harnett shared his thoughts on the move, “Erik has been an instrumental part of the Wolverines success these past two seasons. He has always represented the organization with a passion and professionalism that hasn’t gone unnoticed by anybody who has been directly or indirectly involved with the Wolverines. Although we are sad to see him leave, we are also excited for him and his family entering a new chapter in their lives. EriK has a bright future in this business, we are certain that he will have success in helping grow the Manitoba Junior Hockey league.”
Erik will be responsible for the development, execution, and continued strategic advancement involving all marketing, promotion and corporate partnership initiatives upon assuming his role on Monday, April 13th, 2020.
“The league office and the member teams are extremely excited to have Erik join us as we continue to strive for excellence in the Junior A hockey market,” provided incoming Commissioner Kevin Saurette. “We are fortunate to have attracted someone of Erik’s calibre and character and we look forward to working together as we continue to grow the MJHL brand in all areas.”
“It’s certainly bittersweet moving on from the Wolverines after spending two great seasons with the club. It’s a first class organization from top to bottom and I know they’ll continue to have sustained success moving forward with Taylor and Josh at the helm. In saying that, I’m thrilled to start my new role with the MJHL. It’s truly an honour to be given the opportunity to work at the league level, it’s something that I take very seriously. Kim and Kevin have worked hard to grow the league to where it is today and I’m excited to continue that growth and help take it to the next level in every aspect. I look forward to working with the 11 member teams, league corporate partners and thank the league for believing in me to succeed in this role.” Erik Swar
