Flyers’ Fawkes Commits to RPI for 2020-2021 Season

The Winkler Flyers (MJHL) are pleased to announce that 17 year old forward Eric Fawkes (01) has committed to R.P.I. (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) to play NCAA Div I hockey for the 2020-2021 season.
Fawkes is a 6’3″, 185lbs winger from Winnipeg who wracked up 74 points (37 Goals – 37 Assists) in 47 games with the Winnipeg Wild in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League last season. He currently has three assists in 10 games with the Flyers.
“Happy and proud to announce my commitment to R.P.I.. I want to thank everyone who has helped me along the way and most of all my family. Excited to further my education and play high level hockey.” said Fawkes.
The R.P.I Engineers play in the ECAC in NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey and are based out of Troy, New York.
“We are very happy to see another Flyer commit to a great NCAA program and continue his career at a high level,” said Flyers General Manager Ken Pearson.
“Eric is very deserving of this and has worked hard to get to where he is today,” added Pearson.
