Flyers’ Sydora to suit up next season with the U of M Bisons

Goaltender Dasan Sydora has committed to the University of Manitoba Bisons for the 2015-2016 season. The Red Deer, Alberta native had a career year with the Flyers last season and is looking forward to beginning his college career at the U of M.

The Flyers acquired Sydora from the La Ronge Ice Wolves (SJHL) in September of 2014 and he quickly took over between the pipes. Sydora finished the season with a (26-10-5) record with three shutouts, a 2.61 GAA and a .921 Save Percentage. He was a runner-up for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Goaltender of the Year award and received the IBAM Scholarship at the completion of the 2014-15 season.

“He was an exceptional addition to our hockey club both on and off the ice. He will be missed both in our locker room and in the community.” Said Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson.

The Bisons play in the CIS (Canadian Inter-University Sport), which is the top collegiate hockey program in Canada. The Flyers congratulate Dasan for his decision to continue his hockey career and education at the University of Manitoba where he will focus on getting his Business Degree.
