WINNIPEG, MB – Matthew Haun scored 2:50 into double overtime to give the Kings a 4-3 win over the Terriers in game four, giving Dauphin a 3-1 series lead.
The Kings found their footing at home early in game four and took a 2-0 lead in the first thanks to goals from Matthew Thomas and Rylan Gage. Dauphin led in shots after the first 14-11.
Portage would swap out Ryan Velan for Mitchell Kathler to start the second in the Terriers crease and it would seem to ignite the team. Caleb Lepitre scored on an early powerplay before Scott Cousins tied the game at 2-2 near the end of the second.
Just 2:00 into the third, Matthew Thomas fired in a shot from distance for his second of the game to give the Kings a 3-2 lead. Coming down to the wire, Jonah Lemoine jammed in a rebound and beat Cole Sheffield to tie the game and send it to overtime.
After a scoreless first overtime period, the Kings went to a early powerplay in the second overtime frame when Matthew Haun blasted in a rebound to give the Kings a big win in game four that would give them a 3-1 series lead in the best-of-seven.
