WINNIPEG, MB – Virden Oil Capitals graduating forward, Brett Paddock is this year’s recipient of the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba (IBAM) Scholarship Award.
Brett will receive a $2000 cheque on behalf of IBAM that will go towards his schooling this fall at the University of Manitoba where he is enrolled in the Faculty of Science.
“It is an amazing honour to receive this scholarship from the IBAM and the MJHL,” Paddock shared. “I am so grateful to have played in the MJHL, and to be awarded a scholarship through the league makes for such a surreal experience. I am incredibly thankful for the coaching staff, players and billet families who made my time so memorable, and to the MJHL committee and staff for letting it all happen.”
Paddock spent three seasons playing for the Oil Capitals where he was named team captain for the 2020-21 campaign. The Brandon native spent 106 games in a Virden uniform, scoring 22 goals and 55 assists.
The MJHL would like to thank IBAM for their continued support of junior hockey in the province and are grateful to present this scholarship opportunity to our players of the present and future.
