Kings Hire Assistant Coach

DAUPHIN, MB - The Dauphin Kings announced Tuesday that they have added Stonewall, Manitoba product Dustin Korlak to their coaching staff.

Korlak spent a handful of years (2006-2010) playing in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League with teams including Swan Valley, Selkirk and the Southeast Blades before heading across the pond to play hockey in Europe for two years. Dustin spent time in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. He played in the German Oberliga All Star game in 2011 and took part in the Belgium Cup Championship in 2012. In 70 games in Europe Korlak had 26 goals and 33 assists for 59 points as a defencemen.

Dustin just recently got married to his wife Jenna!

“I am really excited and honoured to be joining the Dauphin Kings. They are a first class organization with a very strong history, and they’re heading in the right direction for continued success” says Korlak.

“My wife Jenna and I are looking forward to calling Dauphin home. The City of Sunshine is a great community with an excellent fan base. I can’t wait to get on the ice with the guys and start the season.”

“We’re really excited about adding Dustin to our program. His experience, passion and enthusiasm will be significant in helping us get to the next level” says Kings Head Coach and General Manager Marc Berry.

“Solidifying our Assistant Coaching position gets us that much closer to the start of the season and we’re all looking forward to that.”

The Kings open the regular season on Friday September 23rd in Swan River against the Swan Valley Stampeders. Kings Camp starts on Thursday September 1st.
