Northern Manitoba Blizzard defenseman, Cutter Knight, was recognized on Wednesday night as the Blizzard RBC Community Ambassador.
Knight has displayed outstanding citizenship and sportsmanship both on and off the ice and a commitment to volunteerism. RBC Community Ambassadors are recognized for making a difference by giving back to their time to the communities where they play.
“It’s an honour to represent the Blizzard as the RBC Community Ambassador and help strengthen the connection between the Northern Manitoba Blizzard organization and our community,” Knight shared. “To be able to engage through various volunteering and working/mentoring at the local schools and events, my teammates and I have been able to be positive images and role models.”
Like Knight, each Ambassador is recognized at their RBC Game Night and will be honoured by a donation from RBC to a school or program in their local community.
“The local community and rural areas support our team so well year after year, and I feel strongly about being a part of that and to give back as often as possible. Our supporters deserve to have it reciprocated now and for the years to come, as we all know, without this amazing community we wouldn’t be here,” he concluded.
At the conclusion of the regular season, one RBC – MJHL Community Ambassador will be named as the recipient of the RBC Community Award, which comes with a further donation from RBC in the player’s name to a school in their local community.
