MJHL Announces Players of the Month Winners for February

 

Propelled by a scoring outburst of 16 points, Matt Osadick of the Swan Valley Stampeders has been named the RBC player of the month for February.

Osadick, 18, scored 10 goals for the Stamps, who finished second in the MJHL this season. The native of Winnipeg recorded a total of five, multiple-point games during his 11-game hot streak. Recently, he committed to University of Maine (NCAA/Div 1).

The runners up are 19 year old forward Kolten Kanaski of the Virden Oil Capitals and 20 year old forward Jake Bestul of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Telus-MJHL Defenceman of the Month

The Telus Defenceman of the Month for February is Tristen Cross of the Virden Oil Capitals.

This is the second consecutive month the native of Virden has won this award. Always responsible in the Oil Caps’ D-zone, he also contributed offensively with three goals and13 points in 13 games.

The runners up are 20 year old Riley Shamray of the Dauphin Kings and 17 year old Michael Ladyman of the Winnipeg Blues.

MGEU-MJHL Goaltender of the Month

The MGEU Goaltender of the Month for February is Isaac LaBelle of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.The 20-year-old from Saskatoon put up an 8-2 record in February, highlighted by a stingy GAA of 1.90 and .945 save percentage. He also recorded a pair of shutouts, giving him a total of three for the season.

The runners up are 20 year old Jeremy Link of the Winnipeg Blues and 18 year old Zachary Bennett of the Selkirk Steelers.

IBAM-MJHL Rookie of the Month

The IBAM Rookie of the Month for February is Eric Fawkes of the Winkler Flyers.

The rookie forward from Winnipeg put up 18 points (8-10) in 14 games. Overall, he won the Flyers’ scoring race with 15 goals and 37 points in 59 games. He recently committed to NCAA-Div 1 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The runners up are 17 year old forward Ty Naaykens of the Winnipeg Blues and 18 year old goaltender Nathan Moore of the Portage Terriers.

Manitoba Pork Peak Performer of the Month

The Manitoba Pork Peak Performer of the Month for February is Connor Beebe of the Winkler Flyers.

Beebe, who hails from Okotoks, AB, had a busy month representing the Flyers at an event held by Gateway Resources which focuses on enriching the lives of local persons living with intellectual disabilities.

Connor, 20, also visited several schools in Winkler and participated in I Love to Read Month. He also volunteered and assisted several times during the month at Winkler Breakfast Club helping children.

Congratulations to Connor Beebe of the Winkler Flyers whose exceptional community volunteer work has earned him the MJHL award as Manitoba Pork Peak Performer of the Month for February.
