MJHL announces scholarship fund recipients

WINNIPEG, MB – The Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) is pleased to announce three recipients of the MJHL Scholarship Fund.

Luke Robson (Virden Oil Capitals), Isaiah Peters (Winkler Flyers), and Jamie Fuchs (Steinbach Pistons) have each been awarded a scholarship to a Canadian post-secondary institution by the MJHL.

Robson spent three seasons in the MJHL split between the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and Virden Oil Capitals where he combined to play 139 regular season games. Robson committed to play BCIHL men’s hockey at Vancouver Island University this fall.

Peters spent two full seasons in a Flyers uniform where he helped the orange and black to a Turnbull Cup championship during the 2023-24 season. The offensive defenseman committed to play USPORTS men’s hockey at the University of Toronto this fall.

Fuchs spent parts of three seasons in the MJHL with the Steinbach Pistons where he played over 100 regular season games. The shifty forward committed to playing USPORTS men’s hockey at Lakehead University this fall.

MJHL scholarships are provided to university and college bound players on an annual basis from a pool of applicants. The scholarship awards must be used by recipients for the cost of post-secondary education in the Canadian education system only.
