WINNIPEG, MB – The Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) is pleased to announce an expanded partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) during the 2025 MJHL-SJHL Showcase in Winnipeg.
Spectators and fans will see the increased exposure through Talk Today helmet stickers on the MJHL and SJHL player helmets, in-game advertisements and an in-person presence from the local CMHA Winnipeg branch.
“We’re grateful to the leadership of the MJHL for providing CMHA’s Across Manitoba the opportunity to support and educate these young athletes around suicide prevention,” said CMHA Manitoba and Winnipeg CEO Marion Cooper. “Through Talk Today, we’re pleased to work with the MJHL, its players, coaches and trainers to reduce the stigma and self-stigma of mental health issues that often keeps young people from sharing and seeking the help they need when they need it most.”
“We are happy to shine the spotlight on the Canadian Mental Health Association and the outstanding work they do with our players through the Talk Today program,” shared MJHL Director of Marketing & Partnerships, Erik Swar. “If we can continue to normalize talking about our mental health at such a critical age, we hope that this can reduce the stigma and help players for years to come.”
