MJHL Players of the Month | February 2026

February 2026  |  The Manitoba Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce the monthly players awards supported by RBC, SAFE Work Manitoba, McMunn & Yates, Chevrolet, and Manitoba Pork:

RBC PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Hayden Wheddon (’05) Niverville Nighthawks

Wheddon continues to be a force for the Nighthawks, scoring over a goal-per-game in the month of February to continue his hold at top of the league leader stat charts. After his big month, Wheddon sits 1st in points (87), 2nd in goals (35), and 1st in assists (52), thanks to seven multi-point outings which included a 3-goal, 2-assist game against Portage.

SAFE WORK MANITOBA DEFENSEMAN OF THE MONTH
Aaron Krestanowich (’06) Niverville Nighthawks

He scored the overtime winner on the road against his former team in The Pas and had points in 8 of 13 contests for the Nighthawks in February from the back end. Krestanowich has shown his ability to shutdown opponents and contribute offensively as he currently sits fourth in league point scoring among all defenders.

MCMUNN & YATES GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH
Liam Ernst (’05) Winkler Flyers

Eight starts, seven wins and four shutouts on the month for Liam Ernst who made 211 saves while helping the Flyers capture 7 of their 10 wins in February. Those four shutouts helped Ernst become the MJHL’s All-Time shutout leader with 16 total.

CHEVROLET ROOKIE OF THE MONTH
Crosby Harrison (’08) Swan Valley Stampeders
12GP | 4G | 10A | 14PTS

Harrison earns Rookie of the Month after leading the way offensively for the Stampeders in February. The 2008-born forward from Winnipeg earned five, multi-point outings which included his 1-goal, 2-assist performance in a big MGEU West Division victory against Virden.

MANITOBA PORK PEAK PERFOMER
Tanner George (’05) Winkler Flyers
12GP | 11G | 12A | 23PTS

One of the driving forces on the Flyers put together a big month on the stat sheet, scoring nearly a goal-per-game to go along with 12 helpers in as many games. George sits second on the Flyers in scoring and finds himself in the top ten of the MJHL scoring race.
