    One year ago the Waywayseecappo Wolverines sit atop the Power Rankings after the opening weekend of the season. This year they’re in the same spot after two wins over the Neepawa Natives, outscoring them 8-1 in the process. The Wolverines sit 16th on the CJHL Top 20 Rankings this week.

    The Oil Capitals were one of four teams that went perfect over opening weekend. They beat Selkirk twice to pick up four points and outscored them 9-3 in the two meetings. Virden is 15th on the CJHL Top 20 this week.

    The defending champion Terriers didn’t have any issues in their opening weekend, coming away with two 4-2 victories against the Winnipeg Blues. The Terriers find themselves 10th on the CJHL Top 20.

    The last team to go perfect over the weekend were the Pistons. They beat Winkler 3-2 at home and 3-1 on the road. They’ll tangle with the Terriers in a battle of perfect teams early this week. Steinbach is 11th on this week’s CJHL Top 20.

    The Stamps opened their weekend with a big win on home ice but couldn’t keep the momentum going with a loss on the road to the Kings on Saturday.

    The Dauphin Kings battled in their opening 6-3 loss to Swan Valley on Friday but bounced back with a 6-4 decision on home ice Saturday.
