MJHL Power Rankings – Week 14


1. (31-7-2)
The Steinbach Pistons are into the new year with a win and a loss following two games last week. The Pistons still have an 11 point lead atop the standings and are also ranked 13th on this week’s CJHL Top 20.

2. (25-10-3)
Two wins over OCN and four straight overall have the Portage Terriers moving up the standings. The Terriers continue a tough stretch this week as they play four of their next five away from home. Portage hit this week’s CJHL Top 20 as an Honourable Mention.

3. (24-12-2)
A mixed start to the new year for the Virden Oil Capitals with wins over Winkler and Steinbach, but an 8-2 loss to Winnipeg all last week.

The Selkirk Steelers are a part of a three way tie for fourth in the MJHL Standings. They’ve won two straight coming into action this week which sees them on a three game home stand.

5. (24-14-0)
Winkler’s weekend road swing saw them snag a win and suffer a loss in two contests while they finished the week with two losses in three outings. The Flyers are home for four of their next six.

Three straight losses to start 2018 for the Blizzard. OCN’s schedule this month is only going to get harder with the club playing five of their next eight away from the GLMC.

A couple of high scoring games for the Winnipeg Blues to kick off the new year. Last week started with a 9-4 loss to Neepawa but ended with an 8-2 victory over Virden.

Swan Valley picked up a big come from behind win over the OCN Blizzard on Sunday and enter this week just a point out of a playoff spot with games in hand on everyone in front of them.

The Neepawa Natives grabbed four of a possible six points last week and currently sit seventh in the standings but have played a handful more games than the two teams chasing them.

A win and a loss for the Wolverines last week which included a 5-1 decision on home ice over the Winkler Flyers.
