CAMROSE, Alberta – Canada West earned its first win of the 2024 Junior A World Challenge on Sunday afternoon, a 5-2 victory over Canada East to win the bronze medal at the Camrose Recreation Centre. It is the third bronze and 12th medal overall for Canada West in tournament history.
Congratulations to Marlen Edwards (Northern Manitoba), Reece Gault (Steinbach), Jackson Kostiuk (Steinbach), Avery Laliberte (Niverville), Dru Mushumanski (Waywayseecappo), Eric Labrosse (Northern Manitoba), and Justin Giesbrecht (Niverville), who will return back to the MJHL with bronze medals around their necks.
Both Marlen Edwards and Jackson Kostiuk earned a pair of assists in the bronze medal game while Avery Laliberte chipped in with a single helper. Edwards and Kostiuk also earned player of the game awards for Canada West during the preliminary round.
