Nighthawks Centennial Cup schedule solidified for PEI

WINNIPEG, MB – The 10-team field is now officially set for the 2026 Centennial Cup in Summerside, PEI, from May 7-17.

The MJHL champions from Niverville can now fully prepare for their opponents in their opening four games of preliminary round action.

The Nighthawks kick off the event on Thursday, May 7th when they take on the host, Summerside Western Capitals from the Maritime Hockey League (MHL). The Capitals fell in game seven of the MHL semi-final to the eventual league champion, Truro Bearcats.

Niverville will have a day off between games before they square off with the Thunder Bay North Stars of the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL) on Saturday, May 9th. Thunder Bay was the 10th and final team to solidify their spot in the event, winning their league championship in seven games.

The Nighthawks will have some rest between games with a pair of days off between their next contest when they go head-to-head with the Canmore Eagles of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). Canmore won their best-of-seven championship series in five games.

To wrap up the preliminary round, it will be a date with the Rockland Nationals from the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), who were ranked #1 in the CJHL rankings for nearly the entire 2025-26 season.
