WINNIPEG, MB – The Niverville Nighthawks skated to a close 3-2 win over the Winkler Flyers on Wednesday night to take a 3-0 series lead on night six of the McMunn & Yates Turnbull Cup Playoffs.

John Scott scored his 4th of the postseason for the game winning goal while Austin Dubinsky made 24 saves to help the Nighthawks to their third straight win of the series.
Joshua Ingram gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead 54 seconds into the 1st period as the Flyers would hold on and take that one-goal lead into the 2nd.
It sure didn’t take long for the Nighthawks to answer back as Hayden Wheddon would score his 1st of the postseason on a powerplay marker. Less than 2 minutes later Kole Mears gave the Nighthawks their first lead of the night when he beat Liam Ernst.

After John Scott’s 4th of the playoffs gave the Nighthawks a 3-1 lead, the Flyers would push and Niklas Gudmundson’s powerplay goal cut the deficit to one. The Flyers would pull Ernst for the extra attacker but couldn’t crack Dubinsky as the Nighthawks would skate to a 3-2 win in game three on home ice.
Both teams would have their fair share of chances on the man-advantage with the Flyers going 1-for-5 and the Nighthawks 1-for-8. These two clubs will meet on Friday night in Winkler for game four at the Centennial Arena.
