WINNIPEG, MB –Â The Virden Oil Capitals and Waywayseecappo Wolverines are off to the second round of the McMunn & Yates Turnbull Cup Playoffs after sweeping their respective best-of-seven opening round matchups.
For the Wolverines, they move on to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in their 27-year history.

Jase Wareham made 38 saves while Dylan Duzan recorded the game winner to help the Waywayseecappo Wolverines down the Dauphin Kings, 3-1 in game four.
Noah Oughton opened the scoring when he buried a rebound on the doorstep to send the Waywayseecappo arena into a frenzy just 8:30 into the 1st. Like they did in the 1st, Waywayseecappo would scored 8:27 into the 2nd when Dylan Duzan cashed in on a rebound.

The Kings would pour on the pressure it the 3rd, outshooting the Wolverines, 19-8. Jace Wareham made a number of key saves to keep the Kings at bay while Cole Hunter would score on the empty net. Rylan Gage would score a late goal for the Kings but that would be all as the Wolverines would skate to victory in front of their raucous home crowd.

Bryce Bryant scored twice while Braxton Burdeny made 17 saves on the way to helping the Virden Oil Capitals cruise to a 7-2 win over the Neepawa Titans.

After Colten Worthington got the scoring underway late in the 1st period to give Virden a 1-0 lead, Kyle Weisgarber tied the game early in the 2nd for the Titans.
The Oil Capitals would flex their offensive muscle the rest of the way, scoring six straight goals, including four in the 2nd and two in the 3rd. Logan Paquette added a late goal for the Titans but that would be it as the Oil Capitals 7-2 win would end the series in four.
