Oil Caps Hire New Assistant Coach

The Virden Oil Capitals are proud to announce the addition of Carter Duffin to the hockey operations department as the club’s new Assistant Coach.

Duffin, who hails from Red Deer spent the last five years coaching in the Red Deer Minor Hockey Association at the Bantam AAA and Midget AA Levels.

“My excitement has certainly grown over the last couple of weeks,” said Duffin.

“Talking with Troy and the members of the organization, I am really looking forward to joining this group.”

A graduate of Briercrest College, Duffin has coaching experience with Hockey Alberta in the Alberta Cup and the Alberta Winter Games.

Duffin, also has experience in the Oil & Gas Industry and will be a welcome addition to the area.

“I’m looking forward to the adventure and the chance to grow as a coach and become a part of the community of Virden,” added Duffin.

The club is expected to round out the hockey staff with a new Athletic Therapist in the coming weeks.
