Week 5, October 10 – 16, 2022 | The Manitoba Junior Hockey League Stars of the Week are proudly presented by Original 16.
Ty Paisley (FWD/’04) – Steinbach Pistons – 3GP | 3G | 3A | 6PTS
It’s been a hot start to the 2022-23 season for the 2nd year Pistons forward who leads the MJHL in scoring. Before Saturday’s loss to the Wolverines, Paisley put together an 8-game point streak where he scored 8 goals and 11 assists. The NCAA Division 1 commit (St.Thomas University) continues to impress on the Pistons top line with Davis Fry and Travis Hensrud. Steinbach is on home ice for the next three looking to bounce back after their 2nd loss of the season.
Josh Lehto (FWD/’04) – Virden Oil Capitals – 3GP | 2G | 4A | 6PTS
After being acquired by the Oil Caps’ in an early season trade with the Terriers, Lehto has fit right into the Virden line up. After losing to Winkler early in the week, Lehto helped the Oil Cap’s bounce back in a pair of wins over the Nighthawks where he contributed offensively. Heading into a new week, Virden sits tied for 2nd in the West with the Wolverines with a home and home series against the Kings on the horizon.
Dalton Andrew (FWD/’03) – Winkler Flyers – 3GP | 4G | 2A | 6PTS
After getting off to a slow start to the season, Andrew has certainly made up for it during the month of October where he scored 4 goals last week after opening the season with 2 in his first 8. The Flyers find themselves 3 points out of 1st place in the MJHL East Division and will have a good test next weekend when the Blizzard and Stampeders head south to Winkler to visit Andrew and the Flyers.
