Week 6, October 17 – 23, 2022  |  The Manitoba Junior Hockey League Stars of the Week are proudly presented by Original 16.

Carson Reed (D/’04) – Niverville Nighthawks – 3GP | 1G | 4A | 5PTS

The rookie defender from Warroad, Minnesota, enjoyed a strong week on the Nighthawks blueline. Reed contributed a pair of assists in a win over the 11-2-0 Terriers before adding a goal and one assist in a win over the western division leading, OCN Blizzard. The Nighthawks sit 4th in the east and host the Terriers on Saturday night in Niverville.

Riley Zimmerman  (FWD/’02) – OCN Blizzard – 3GP | 1G | 6A | 7PTS

The 20-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, sits back in the top five of league scoring after another great week of play. Zimmerman helped the Blizzard to 8 straight wins and a seven point lead in the west. Two assists in three straight games and a goal gave Zimmerman the highest point production in the league over that time. OCN will host Dauphin early in week 7 before a pair of weekend matchups on home ice.

Mathieu Catellier (FWD/’03) – Selkirk Steelers  – 3GP | 1G | 4A | 5PTS

A third-year forward from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Catellier was a key part in the Steelers first win of the season over the Freeze where he added one goal and two assists. The Steelers have some tough sledding as they currently sit nine points out of the final playoff spot in the east. Selkirk hits the road for a back-to-back set against Swan Valley and OCN this weekend.
