Ty Paisley scored twice while Dominik Wasik stopped 31/31 to earn his second straight shutout, helping the Steinbach Pistons to a 3-0 win and a 2-0 series lead over the Virden Oil Capitals.

Like they did in game one, the Steinbach Pistons opened the scoring on Sunday night when Ty Paisley walked into the zone and fired a wrist shot to the back of the net just prior to the midway mark of the first period.

Early in the second, Steinbach would take three straight penalties before getting a chance of their own on the man-advantage. Warren Clark made a nice rush up the ice and found Ty Paisley open in the slot who scored off the post and in for his second of the night, giving Steinbach a 2-0 lead.

Near the midway mark of the third period, Dawson Milliken picked off an Oil Caps’ clearing attempt and fired a shot off the back wall that Kirk Mullen got to Davin Griffin alone in front who scored his second of the finals, giving Steinbach a 3-0 lead.

Virden would pull goaltender, Eric Reid for the extra attacker with over three minutes left to play and would get some quality chances but couldn’t solve Pistons netminder, Dominik Wasik as the Pistons would hold on for the game two victory.

Game three is set for Wednesday night in Virden when the Oil Capitals will host their first game of the MJHL Turnbull Cup Finals since 2018.
