WINNIPEG, MB – The Steinbach Pistons skated to victory over the Portage Terriers on Saturday night in front of 2444 fans at the Southeast Event Centre in Steinbach to advance to the second round of the McMunn & Yates Turnbull Cup Playoffs.

Sam Noad scored the game winner while goaltender, Chris Quizi, posted a 29-save shutout to help the Steinbach Pistons earn a 2-0 win over the Terriers in game five.
Noad’s powerplay marker came 7:03 into the 2nd period when he redirected a point shot from Zhenya Miles.
The Terriers would push late and get a four minute powerplay, but the Pistons shut would shut down the Terriers and close out the game with a Liam Doyle empty netter to help seal the victory.
