TORONTO – The high-flying Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) remain No. 1 for a second straight week in the Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade, announced Monday.
On an impressive run, Trenton has won 15 Ontario Junior Hockey League contests in a row, improving to 26-3-1-0 overall.
Tabbed at No. 2 in the CJHL, sit the Edmundston Blizzard (MHL).
They’ve gone 23-3-1-1 to date in the Maritime Hockey League, sporting a winning percentage of .857 while competing in front of crowds well over 2,000 fans a night on home ice at Centre Jean Daigle.
On a 10-game heater, the Melfort Mustangs are rolling in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, and have moved up to No. 3 in the national listings, which are compiled by an independent scouting service.
Melfort has a nine-point lead atop the SJHL table, having gone 21-4-0-0, without losing in a month.
Another surging side, the Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL), have also come away victorious in 10 consecutive contests and are slotted at No. 4.
The front-runners in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League boast a 24-2-1-1 mark and have been sound defensively, only allowing a NOJHL-low 59 goals-against so far on the campaign.
