Former Winnipeg Saint defenceman Travis Hamonic hasn’t forgotten his roots. Now a member of the New York Islanders, Hamonic is determined to make a difference with young people, who reach out to him. Recently, Hamonic was instrumental in making a difference for a 7-year-old boy and his family from PEI who are missing their father and husband, who was murdered last year.
Hamonic, who hails from St. Malo, lost his father when he was 10 years old. It’s a memory he’ll never forget, and uses as a motivator in helping others.
