Steelers Alumni Gault nominated for Hobey Baker

Former Selkirk Steelers forward, Caiden Gault, has been nominated for the 2025 Hobey Baker Memorial Award.

The nominees for the award, given to college hockey’s best player, are decided through a vote between the NCAA Division I hockey head coaches.

Gault spent the 2019-20 season with the Steelers, scoring 25 goals while adding 22 assists in 59 games, earning him a spot on the MJHL All-Rookie Team. The native of Oakbank, MB, is currently in his Junior season at Ferris State University. Votes for the Hobey Baker can be placed until March 9th by clicking the link here.

Caiden’s younger brother, Reece, currently stars on the Steinbach Pistons and is committed to play NCAA Division I Hockey at Northern Michigan University.
