WINNIPEG, MB – A four-goal third period comeback led Team MJHL 20U-Red to a 6-4 win over Team SJHL 20U-White on Wednesday afternoon at the MJHL-SJHL Showcase.

After the SJHL struck first, Isaiah Peters (Winkler Flyers) blasted a shot in from the point on the powerplay to knot the game up and 1-1 after one with the MJHL leading the shot clock, 14-6.

Brody Beauchemin (Winkler Flyers) gave Team MJHL the lead early in the second period on a nice move in tight. The SJHL would tie the game just a few minutes later as the game would head to the third period locked at 2-2.

Another early goal in the third period would give the SJHL a 3-2 lead before three quick goals off the sticks of Quincy Supprien (Norman Blizzard), Sean Williams (Niverville Nighthawks), and Adam Vigfusson would give Team MJHL a 5-3 lead.

The SJHL would cut the deficit back to one, making it a 5-4 game with under four minutes to play. Team SJHL would pull their goaltender but it would be too little too late as Jayce Legaarden would add the empty netter to seal the 6-4 win.

Team MJHL 20U-Red’s victory marks the third straight win for the MJHL as they head into the 6th and final game against the SJHL leading with a 3-2 record.
