Three alumni selected to CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

Conor Geekie, Reid Dyck, and Denton Mateychuk were 3 of 40 players recently selected for the 2022 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game to take place in Kitchener, Ontario on March 23, 2022.

The trio of Manitobans started their 2020-21 season playing in the MJHL on loan while waiting to return to their Western Hockey League organizations.

Winnipeg ICE forward, Conor Geekie scored 1 goal, adding 3 assists in 9 games with the Virden Oil Capitals. Swift Current Broncos goaltender, Reid Dyck kicked off that season in net for the Winkler Flyers where he went 3-2-0-0, sporting a 2.78GAA and .920SV%. Moose Jaw Warriors defenseman, Denton Mateychuk found himself playing for the Steinbach Pistons, scoring 1 goal and 2 assists in 8 games.

The CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game is an annual event in which forty of the top NHL Entry Draft eligible prospects in the Canadian Hockey League play against each other in an all-star game environment. Players are looking to solidify their draft ranking with National Hockey League scouts and general managers in attendance.
