Virden Oil Capitals alumnus, Tyler Kirkup has been named CCHA Forward of the Week for his performance against North Dakota last weekend.
Bemidji State Beavers senior forward Tyler Kirkup receives the honor after collecting his fifth multi-point game of his career with a goal and an assist in a 4-3 loss to No. 7 North Dakota Friday before logging a career-best two goals in a 4-3 victory versus the Fighting Hawks to complete the series. He finished the weekend with a BSU-best four points (3g-1a).
After failing to record a point in the Beavers’ first series of 2021-22, he bounced back with four points in the team’s second series to tie for 10th in the league with four points and third in the league with three goals.
Kirkup spent three seasons (2015-18) in an Oil Capitals uniform where he committed to play NCAA DI Hockey at Bemidji State University.
