(+1) 4th – OCN Blizzard

This Week: 2-0
Overall: 25-17-2-3
Impressive Player – Forward Ashton Paul – 2GP/3G/2A/5PTS
An offensive explosion after a tightly fought road win shows the Blizzard are willing and able to play whatever style it takes to win. Taking home 6 of their last 8 points has them right back in the thick of the MGEU West. Big week with all road games.
Up Next: Feb 17th @ Niverville, Feb 18th @ Selkirk, Feb 19th @ WPG Freeze, Feb 22nd @ Swan Valley

(+3) 5th – Steinbach Pistons

This Week: 1-1
Overall: 33-12
Impressive Player: Forward Nick Mikan – 2GP/1G/0A/1PT
Slipping back in the race for top spot. Have shown they have what it takes to win playoff style games. The ingredients are there but will need produce consistently as the games get tighter and tighter down the stretch. Statement weekend looms.
Up Next: Feb 17th @ Dauphin, Feb 18th vs Dauphin, Feb 20th vs Niverville

(-2) 6th – Winkler Flyers

This Week: 1-1
Overall: 28-11-5-1
Impressive Player: Forward Daniel Isaak – 2GP/0G/2A/2PTS
Gutsy response after coming up short on home ice gave the Flyers a split. Both games proved there is no quit in the orange and black, as if there was doubt about that. Un-sung guys are stepping up and depth scoring will need to continue as they eye home ice in round one.
Up Next: Feb 18th @ Portage, Feb 19th vs Swan Valley, Feb 22 vs WPG Freeze

(+2) 7th – Dauphin Kings

This Week: 1-1
Overall: 26-17-2-1
Impressive Player: Forward Jakob Brook – 2GP/1G/1A/2PTS
Grinding away are the defending league champs. Refusing to give up goals, strong defense, and some standout goaltending have held opponents to 2 goals or less in 4 straight games. Need to find a way to create offense while still not giving up chances against.
Up Next: Feb 17th vs Steinbach, Feb 18th @ Steinbach

(+2) 8th – Waywayseecappo Wolverines
This Week: 2-1
Overall: 26-15-3-2
Impressive Player: Forward Carson Baptiste – 3GP/1G/3A/4PTS
A letdown in their last game won’t deter the Wolverines too much as they’ve strung together a decent run to currently hold the top spot. It’s not a firm grip by any means but the more games come off the calendar, the better it looks as though the MGEU West goes through Waywayseecappo.
Up Next: Feb 18th vs Virden, Feb 19th @ Virden

(-4) 9th – Swan Valley Stampeders

This Week: 0-1-1
Overall: 23-15-5-1
Impressive Player: Forward Justin Keck – 2GP/2G/1A/3PTS
After a long break, the Stamps didn’t hit the ground running claiming one out of four possible points. The good news is they have games in hand but little margin for error going forward as every point is critical. Can be confident as a group they have what it takes to go on a points run.
Up Next: Feb 15th vs Neepawa, Feb 18th @ Niverville, Feb 19th @ Winkler, Feb 22nd vs OCN

(+1) 10th – Neepawa Titans

This Week: 0-0
Overall: 18-20-8-1
Impressive Player: Goalie Mason Lobreau – 12-9/.913 SV%/2.80 GAA/2 shutouts
A week to reflect and look around the room knowing they have an uphill battle to get to where they want to go. They have dynamic pieces, have bought into the system, and good goaltending. The group needs to believe and needs to find a way to get a point every game the rest of the way, or else.
Up Next: Feb 15th @ Swan Valley, Feb 17th vs WPG Blues, Feb 19th vs WPG Blues

(-3) 11th – Niverville Nighthawks

This Week: 0-2
Overall: 21-20-1-3
Impressive Player: Forward Brendan Bottem – 2GP/2G/2A/4pts
A pair of learning lessons giving away critical points in the final minutes of back-to-back games may end up being a blessing for the Nighthawks. Teams have to learn lessons before they get to where they want to go and better now than in March. How the group responds will be telling.
Up Next: Feb 17th vs OCN, Feb 18th vs Swan Valley, Feb 20th @ Steinbach

(-2) 12th – Winnipeg Blues

This Week: 0-2
Overall: 15-25-6-1
Impressive Player: Defenseman Nolan Bettens – 2GP/1G/0A/1PT
Scoring has all of a sudden dried up for the Blues and at the worst possible time. Have not scored more than two goals in a game in 5 straight and fading from contention. A positive note for the program is how many players have announced commitments and there could still be more coming.
Up Next: Feb 15th @ WPG Freeze, Feb 17th @ Neepawa, Feb 19th @ Neepawa

(-2) 13th – Winnipeg Freeze

This Week: 0-3
Overall: 3-41-2
Impressive Player: Forward Nathan Lenoski – 3GP/2G/0A/2PTS
Whatever the score is, the Freeze battle. They will be facing teams desperate for points so if they embrace the role of spoiler, they can have their say on what the playoffs look like, despite being out of the race.
Up Next: Feb 15th vs WPG Blues, Feb 17th @ Selkirk, Feb 19th vs OCN, Feb 22nd @ Winkler
