1st – Portage Terriers (+5)
Last week: 3-0
Overall: 7-5
Three very impressive games have the Terriers rolling. Scoring threats throughout and now with the goaltending sorted, poised to climb up the MGEU East standings.

2nd – Selkirk Steelers (+3)
Last week: 2-1
Overall: 12-3
Proving time and time again the fast start is no fluke. Strong scoring combined with elite goaltending. League best goal differential at +27. Have played most games in the MJHL.
Key Player: Wyatt Witham – 3 goals, 1 assist in 3 games

3rd – Winkler Flyers (-2)
Last week: 1-1
Overall: 7-3
Had their immaculate month stopped in its tracks. Game featured 84 minutes in penalties combined. Despite scoring just once in the loss, they have outscored teams 33-9.
Key Player: Brody Beauchemin – 2 assists in 2 games

4th – Steinbach Pistons (-)
Last week: 1-1
Overall: 7-2-1
A so-so stretch of late. Speed and competitiveness has led to success. When that takes a break, it allows teams to build and dictate the game. The hunted can’t take periods off.
Key Player: Brett Kaiser – 1 goal, 2 assists in 2 games

5th – Northern Manitoba Blizzard (-2)
Last week: 1-1
Overall: 9-4
Still searching for the consistent offense. When on, a hard team to play against. When not on their game, haven’t shown the scoring depth to dig themselves out of trouble.
Key Player: Sam Zagari – 2 goals in 2 games

6th – Dauphin Kings (-4)
Last week: 1-2
Overall: 8-4
Salvaged what could have been a disastrous weekend by picking up a solid win on the road at the end. Far from a season defining stretch but something the group can learn from.
Key Player: Cayden Glover – 3 goals, 1 assist in 3 games

7th – Neepawa Titans (+1)
Last week: 2-1
Overall: 7-5-0-1
They don’t ask how, they just want points in the bank. A pair of wild, intense overtime games have the Titans closer to the top of the division than they are to the bottom.

8th – Virden Oil Capitals (-1)
Last week: 1-2
Overall: 6-7
Still looking for that consistent stretch of play that vaults them over the .500 mark for good. One step back, one step forward. Sense is their best hockey is yet to come.

9th – Niverville Nighthawks (-)
Last week: 1-2
Overall: 6-6
The struggles to score have hampered a team that’s looking to take a step. Have scored 1 or less in 5 of 7 games this month. Bright spot is special teams being near the top of MJHL.
Key Player: Jase Konecsni – 1 goal in 3 games

10th – Winnipeg Freeze (+2)
Last week: 1-0
Overall: 1-7-0-1
A gutsy, scrappy, eye-catching win over one of the league’s top teams will grab attention. They gave up way too many shots and chances, but they won, that’s what matters.
Key Player: Braxton Burdeny – 59 saves on 60 shots

11th – Swan Valley Stampeders (+2)
Last week: 0-0-2
Overall: 1-9-2
Never a team short of effort, a change behind the bench provided a bit of a boost for a group desperate for points. Outcomes aside, at least it was something to build on.

12th – Waywayseecappo Wolverines (-1)
Last week: 0-0
Overall: 3-6
The group had the week off to rest and reset. Have played the fewest games in the MGEU West Division. Trail the 4th spot by 6 points but have 4 games in hand.

13th – Winnipeg Blues (-3)
Last week: 0-1
Overall: 2-8-1-1
Unable to follow up after a big win but the effort level is there. Speedy, determined and more dangerous than given credit for, the Blues could be a team to watch going forward.
Key Player: Jack Linton – 1 goal in 1 game
