Wolff resigns from Swan Valley Stampeders

Submitted by Swan Valley Stampeders

With regret, the Board of Directors of the Swan Valley Stampeders announce that Head Coach and General Manager, Barry Wolff, has chosen not to return for the 2019-2020 season and has resigned from his position effective immediately.  Wolff’s contract with the Stampeders was for the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons, with an opt-out clause that could be exercised prior to May 31, 2019.  Wolff informed the Board of Directors of his decision yesterday and that he has accepted a position in the BCHL.

In giving his notice, Wolff made it clear that his decision was an extremely difficult one and that monetary considerations did not factor into it.  Wolff had this to say.

“Thank you so much to the Board of Directors, the staff, the players, billet families, all the volunteers, the corporate partners and the entire Swan Valley community for an unforgettable season and experience.  The Swan Valley and the Stampeders will always be special to me.”

The Board of Directors would like to thank Barry Wolff for all his work in guiding the Stampeders to the team’s first ever MJHL final in 2018-2019.  We wish him well in his future endeavours.

The search for a replacement will begin immediately.  Please direct any media inquiries to President, Pat Morden at 204-734-8627.
