Steelers Make Coaching Change

The Selkirk Steelers Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club announce today that
the team and Head Coach/Director of Player Personnel Wayne Bartley have mutually parted ways.

Bartley assumed the head coaching position at the start of the 2014 – 2015 Season after replacing Ryan Smith.

“It’s always a difficult scenario when a coach leaves late in the season and especially after a series of difficult losses. Our Executive is committed to ensuring that we remain a competitive team in the MJHL and sometimes changes like this are unfortunate but necessary to achieve those goals” said Andy Rewucki, Steelers Vice President. Assistant Coach Jeff Mitchell has been appointment Interim Head Coach.

“Wayne has proven to be very passionate about the Steelers and worked hard during his time here. This decision was mutual and we wish Wayne all the success in his future endeavors” said Rewucki.

The Steelers have 9 regular season games remaining.
