Brandon Funk commits to Long Island University

Winnipeg Blues forward, Brandon Funk has committed to play NCAA Division 1 men’s hockey at Long Island University.

Funk has enjoyed a strong start to his second season in the MJHL, splitting time between Portage and Winnipeg. Since joining the Blues in a mid-season trade, Funk has scored 11 goals and 11 assists in 19 games.

The 17-year-old from Winnipeg, MB was selected to play in both the MJHL Top Prospects Showcase and the recent, 2023 MJHL-SJHL Showcase.

The Long Island University Sharks men’s hockey team plays NCAA Division 1 out of Brookville, New York as an independent school.
