Draft Notes | Hoilett, Crossin, Dittmer and Kaiser re-live Draft day excitement

The 2020 Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) Draft was a special day for many players and families from across the province who saw their hard work and dedication pay off.

In the latest installment of Draft Notes, first round selections London Hoilett, Calder Crossin, Carter Dittmer and Brett Kaiser discussed getting drafted into the MJHL, how they have been keeping busy and much more.

London Hoilett | Virden Oil Capitals | Round 1 – Overall 6

“My mom woke me up and we headed downstairs and got the draft on the TV. I was sitting on the couch and I saw my name pop up sixth overall was pretty exciting, my mom jumped up and it was a great moment.”

Calder Crossin | Swan Valley Stampeders | Round 1 – Overall 8

“I was thrilled to be picked by the Stampeders, I was just sitting in my living room with my parents and we all jumped up in excitement, it was a great experience.”

Carter Dittmer | Winkler Flyers | Round 1 – Overall 9

“It was exciting for sure, I was happy for Calder (Crossin) getting picked right before me. It was really exciting, I get to play where my dad used to play in Winkler. Just exciting for me when I saw my name called and jumped up with excitement.

Brett Kaiser | Steinbach Pistons | Round 1 – Overall 11

“I woke up and saw I was picked eleventh by Steinbach and that was pretty exciting. A lot of my friends got drafted which was cool to see.”
