On Friday, February 27, Liam Ernst became the MJHL’s All-Time leader in shutouts (16) with his 23-save performance against the Blizzard.
It was back-to-back shutouts for Ernst and the Flyers as they skated to a 5-0 win over the Titans just three nights prior. Ernst earned MJHL goalie of the month in February where he posted four total shutouts.
Ernst has spent parts of three seasons in Winkler where he has a career 58-13-12 record to go along with a 1.76 goals against average and 0.930 save percentage and his 16 total shutouts.
To break the record, Ernst surpassed Matt Radomsky (Steinbach Pistons 2016-19) who had 15 career MJHL shutouts.
