Hensrud commits to Northern Michigan University

Steinbach Pistons forward, Travis Hensrud has committed to play NCAA Division 1 men’s hockey at Northern Michigan University.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound winger currently sits 3rd in MJHL scoring with 21 goals and 21 assists in 27 games. His 21 goals are second most in the MJHL to go along with his 1.56 points per game average, ranking 3rd in the league.

When Hensrud arrives to campus in the fall of 2023, he will join former Portage Terriers star, Reilly Funk who is currently in his sophomore season at Northern Michigan.

The Northern Michigan University Wildcats are based in Marquette, Michigan, and play NCAA Division 1 men’s hockey in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA).
