Steinbach Pistons forward, Hunter Degelman was named one of thirteen, MJHL – RBC Community Ambassadors earlier this season.
Each ambassador has displayed outstanding citizenship and sportsmanship both on and off the ice and a commitment to volunteerism. RBC Community Ambassadors are recognized for making a difference and giving back to their communities where they play.
“The community is so supportive in all we do, they support us at all of our games so giving back to them is very easy,” Degelman explained.
A donation was made by RBC on Hunter’s behalf that will go toward Woodlawn School in Steinbach.
“Myself and other teammates have volunteered there over the course of this season and to be an RBC Community Ambassador I feel very honoured. To give back to the community is something I take pride in. I think it’s very important for our team to be involved in the community as they give us so much support and everyone on our team does so it’s a very special relationship between our team and community,” Degelman concluded.
During the MJHL Turnbull Cup Finals, one RBC – MJHL Community Ambassador will be named as the recipient of the RBC Community Award, which comes with a further donation from RBC in the player’s name to a school in their local community.
