Virden Oil Capitals forward, Luke MacKenzie has announced his commitment to play NCAA Division I ice hockey for the Canisius University Golden Griffins.
MacKenzie, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound winger from Pipestone, Manitoba, was selected 22nd overall in the 2022 MJHL Draft by the Oil Caps’ and is fresh off of his second game in the MJHL. MacKenzie spent last season with the Southwest Cougars in the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League.
The Canisius University Golden Griffins men’s hockey team plays out of Buffalo, New York, in the Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA).
