MJHL Announces Players of the Month Winners

 

Bradly Goethals of the Swan Valley Stampeders has been named the RBC Player of the Month for November, MJHL Commissioner Kim Davis announced today.

Goethals, 20, showed off his offensive talents, reflected in 17 points (7-10) in 12 games. The native of Ile des Chenes, had four multi-point games over that span, highlighted by two game-winning goals.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Goethals is one of many outstanding players on the Stamps, who are enjoying one of their best seasons in years with a 19-6-2-2 record for 42 points ─ good for second in the MJHL standings.

Currently Goethals has 30 points (12-18) in 21 games.

The runners up are 17 year old forward Joey Moffatt of the Portage Terriers and 19 year old forward Kolten Kanaski of the Virden Oil Capitals.

Telus-MJHL Defenceman of the Month

The Telus Defenceman of the Month for November is Caelan McPhee of the Portage Terriers.

McPhee, 19, is known for his consistent play at both ends of the ice, highlighted by an impressive scoring touch: 16 points (2-14) in 10 games last month. Overall, the native of Ancaster, ON, sits third among MJHL scoring for defencemen with 25 points (5-20) in 28 games.

The runners up are 20 year old Riley Shamray of the Dauphin Kings and 20 year old Quintin Sudom of the Swan Valley Stampeders.

MGEU-MJHL Goaltender of the Month

The MGEU Goaltender of the Month for November is Dalton Dosch of the Virden Oil Capitals.

Dosch, 19, posted an impressive 7-3 record last month, with a 2.48 GAA, .923 save percentage and one shutout victory. The native of Willow Bunch, SK, has been a key member for the Oil Capitals who have an overall record of 12-11-1-4, 29 points.

The runners up are 19 year old Matthew Radomsky of the Steinbach Pistons and 20 year old Jeremy Link of the Winnipeg Blues.

IBAM-MJHL Rookie of the Month

The IBAM Rookie of the Month for November defenceman Owen Murray of the Portage Terriers.

The 5-foot-8, 160-pound plays with enthusiasm and intensity every game, reflected in 14 points (2-12) in 10 games for the league-leading Terriers. Murray hails from Decker, MB.

The runners up are 17 year old forward Brayden Foreman of the Winnipeg Blues and 17 year old defenceman Colby Jaquet of the Selkirk Steelers.

Manitoba Pork Peak Performer of the Month

The Manitoba Pork Peak Performer of the Month for November is Xavier Halterman of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Halterman, 18, takes a lot of pride in going above and beyond his duties off the ice. Often he is volunteering at an after-school program in Waywayseecappo. He also skates with youth or reads to classrooms at the elementary school in nearby Rossburn.

Halterman, who hails from St. Albert, AB, is always more than willing to step up and take initiative to volunteer and help out. He has also spent time at the Rossburn Personal Care home during bingo, visiting with residents and pouring coffee.

Halterman is a true ambassador who gives energy and commitment to his community.
