Story by Dave Anthony
Players have made their way to town, exhibition games have begun and coaches are optimistic with sights set high, it’s time to start the new season!
We asked each head coach a number of questions as they prepare for the season and here’s what they had to say.
Swan Valley Stampeders – 2020/21 (5-4-0-0)
Leading scorers: Alex Danis (7g, 7ast for 14 pts), Haydn Delorme (4g, 9ast for 13 pts)
Key graduating players: Mikael Foucher, Haydn Delorme, Jackson Zloty
Season outlook: It seems like forever ago that the Stampeders, led by coach Barry Wolff were in the MJHL finals and a goal away from a championship. While only playing nine games last season, Swan proved their on the path to making serious noise. While losing their top scorers will hurt, the Stamps will look to provide a more balanced lineup that will make teams earn everything. Way too early to tell if there will be scorers like Danis or a Josh Tripp/Bradly Goethals connection, but Swan will grind out some wins and that should bring fans to Centennial Arena.
