Neepawa Natives name new Head Coach and General Manager

The Neepawa Natives Junior “A” Hockey club is pleased to announce that Ken Pearson will be the new Head Coach and General Manager of the team.
Pearson was raised at Neepawa and is a former player and assistant coach with the team. He is well known to local hockey fans, as Neepawa is his home town and he has many family members in the area.
His coaching and management career includes Assistant Coach, Neepawa Natives, 1994-96; Assistant Coach, Winkler Flyers, 1997-98, and many years of being head coach and/or  GM of the AJHL Brooks Bandits, Alberta; Winnipeg South Blues; Battleford North Stars of the SJHL and two stints with the Winkler Flyers.
Pearson has been nominated and has won several coaching awards and is well regarded in the hockey world.
Pearson said, “I would like to thank the Board of Directors of the Neepawa Natives for this opportunity. My family and I are very excited to be able to return to Neepawa and look forward to what the future holds here, and working with the people of Neepawa and the surrounding area.”
Team president Ken Waddell said, “We are very pleased, as a team, to have Kenny re-join the Neepawa Natives. He will bring a lot of coaching experience and passion to the position. I am sure our fans and supporters will join me and welcome him back to his roots.”
Pearson and the team have agreed to a five year contract.
At the Neepawa Natives Awards banquet on March 2, the team announced that there will be a major season ticket sales launch on March 17, at the Boston Pizza team room, in Neepawa, at 5 p.m. “We introduced our Neepawa Natives Fan Support Group, at the Annual Banquet on March 2 and they have put together a great package for our 2019-20 season ticket sales. Details about prizes and incentives for the season ticket campaign will be announced on March 17,” noted Waddell. In addition to the season ticket launch, there
will be a reception to meet Ken Pearson and staff members, so everyone is welcome to attend.
